Supporting Our Seniors

Our BTEC Opportunities formally recognise the contribution our members make to their communities

One of the pieces of feedback we often hear is that when our members are studying for their GCSE’s and A Levels, Boys’ Brigade activities can be a distraction. Whilst we think it is important for teenagers to have a break and time away from their studies, we also recognise the importance of qualifications during what is a key period of time for our members.

That is why we have teamed up with CVQO to offer our members aged 16-18 the opportunity to gain a BTEC Extended Certificate in Teamwork & Personal Development in the Community. The qualification recognises work our members may have already carried out via the Duke of Edinburgh award or through badgework within The Boys’ Brigade itself. Should this trial be successful, we will then look to roll this out across the England Region, to offer more of our members, formal recognition of the work they put in during their time with us.

Full details and conditions about the trial can be found on our dedicated webpage, whilst information on how to register for the opportunity has been sent out to Captains & Officer’s in Charge.

We hope that you will encourage your Seniors to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their CV.
