BTEC Information Evening

CVQO – our partner in delivering BTEC Qualifications, will be holding a BTEC awareness evening for Uniformed Youth Groups in Croydon and South West London. The event will be held on Monday 25th April at Royal Russell School commencing at 1915 hours. We would be delighted if Boys’ Brigade members and their leadership teams could please join us for the evening to find out more about CVQO and our Qualifications. We are also delighted that Professor Simon Denny the author the Northampton Report will be joining us on the night to give a keynote address on his report about the benefit of the BTEC qualification to those in uniformed youth organisations.

On this evening CVQO will be showcasing their flagship BTEC Level 2 qualification which is the Teamwork and personal development in the community which is fully funded for our members if they fulfil the following criteria. The evening would clearly be more beneficial to them but all are welcome.

Group A – Current learners 2021/22

The young person is an active member of Boys’ Brigade, they were at least 16 years of ago before 31st August 2021 and have completed year 11. 

Group B – Potential learners 2022/23

The young person is an active member of Boys’ Brigade, they will be 16 years of age by 31st August 2022 and by then have completed year 11.

The following is the proposed outline for the evening

1915         Everyone to arrive by
1930        All seated in the theatre.
Introduction and presentation by Professor Simon Denny author of the Northampton Report into the social impact of Cadets and the benefits of the qualifications provided by CVQO.
1950         CVQO presentation starts followed by registration for those who wish to
2030         Depart.

Parents and leaders are most welcome to attend as well.

Royal Russell School is very accessible to members from not only Croydon and South West London but also Central London with trains from both Croydon and Victoria Stations. The tram (From Wimbledon, Croydon & Beckenham) stops outside the school, as does the 130 and 466 buses which stop near the school entrance. Parents can drop off or companies can use their own mini buses, there is parking at the school.

Please let us know if you can attend by Wednesday 20th April with names and numbers of attendees. Uniform may be worn at the event but this is not compulsory.
