Refresh Leaders Residential

It’s a fresh new event and will be a great opportunity for leaders to come together to share ideas, explore ways of working, with time to consider our roles, what we do in our Companies, pick-up new programme ideas and spend time in fellowship.

Who is it for?
This event is for all leaders across London and beyond. You can fly solo and come along and join others, or bring the whole team from your Company. It’s for the experienced leader who’s been in the role for years and for young leaders or those that have recently got involved in volunteering within your Company in some shape or form. It’s for everyone!

Where will we be staying?
The event will take place at Felden Lodge which is the BB UK & RoI Headquarters located in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

We will be staying in twin bedded en-suite bedrooms and have access to lounge areas, as well as space to get together as a whole group. The extensive grounds provide plenty of outdoor space to take a stroll and see some of the centre and what it offers. We will eat onsite with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided with tea/coffee available throughout the weekend, an alcoholic bar will also be available in the evenings.

What will we be doing?
As above it will be a great time for leaders to come together. On Friday evening from 7pm there will be an evening meal with time to settle in and we will be joined by well-known Christian performer, speaker and writer Steve Legg who will be providing some light entertainment. On Saturday, after breakfast we will be joining others leaders for the Refresh training day which also takes place at Felden that weekend (just for the day on Saturday, 10am to 5pm) which includes the opportunity to participate in a number of workshops supporting Company work. On Saturday evening we will have an evening meal, and this will be followed some optional activities and light entertainment with an opportunity to relax and share with other leaders. On Sunday we will come together in worship and will split up to either focus on Company or Battalion Development, with members of BBHQ/Regional Staff team leading these sessions. The weekend will come to a close at 3pm.

Getting to the location…
Trains from London Euston go to Hemel Hempstead Station at least every 30 minutes. Pickups from the station will be arranged for those arriving on Friday night, alternatively the station is about 15 mins walk away or short taxi ride. For those driving use postcode ‘HP3 0BB’, there is plenty of parking onsite with the venue 5 mins from A41 (via Junction 20, M25) or J8, M1 motorway.

What’s the cost…
The cost including accommodation, food/refreshments and the entire programme in terms of sessions & activities is just £65 per person (when sharing, supplement of £15 for single occupancy). We have managed to keep the cost of the event low and we hope that Companies, Churches and/or Battalions might be able to help support leaders with the cost of event and travel where necessary. If you or a leader would like to come, and finance is a problem then please do get in touch and we will see what we can do to help. When registering we are asking for a £25 deposit for all leaders attending with the remainder due by 8th November.
