SUMMARY:First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:This is a certified one day Emergency First Aid at Work Course run by Melvyn French\, a Boys’ Brigade leader from South East Battalion and can be completed by those needing to renew their qualification or those who are new to First Aid. \nThe course will be taking place on Saturday 14th September 2024 from 09:30 until 16:30 at The Vine Christian Community Church\, Axminster Crescent\, Welling\, DA16 1HF. This course costs a fraction of what it would cost with a provider outside of The Boys’ Brigade and we would encourage leaders who are interested in undertaking a First Aid qualification to book onto the course. Feedback from those who have attended previously is that it is one of the best First Aid courses they have attended and very interactive. \nOnce completed the qualification will be valid for three years and leaders can inform HQ that they have completed the course and their OBM records will be updated. \nPlease contact Melvyn directly on melvynfrench7@gmail.com to find out more and to book your place on the course. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Skills for Queens Badge training is open to young people who have started their Queen’s Badge. This session covers the skills-based training requirement of the Queen’s Badge and is ideal for any young person about to take on responsibility working with children in a BB group. By the end of the session participants will be able to: \n\nConsider the different qualities of leadership and what makes a good leader.\nUnderstand the different knowledge\, skills and attitudes that make up a leader.\nThink about the different considerations a leader needs to think about when running activities.\nTo develop and share new activities and ideas for working with children.\n\nThis training event is being run by South East Battalion on 14th October at Christ Church Hall\, Sidcup.
