DESCRIPTION:London District is delighted to invite all leaders to a special evening aboard the Golden Spirit on Monday 20th July 2026. \nThe evening is all about thanking the dedicated leaders within The Boys’ Brigade & Girls’ Association in London\, who give of their time week in week out. We are so grateful for all they (you) do to support and provide amazing opportunities for children & young people and this event is very much an opportunity to bring those leaders together and say thank you! \n    \nOur event will be hosted on M. V. Golden Spirit\, which is the newest addition to the Capital Pleasure Boats fleet and is located in central London on the River Thames. The Goldern Spirit boasts 2 decks and a beautiful sundeck to the rear\, the spacious saloons have windows that run the length of the boat flooding the interior with light\, with seating and tables on the lower deck\, all providing ample space to socialise and see all the sights as the boat journeys along the river. \nThe boat will depart from Temple Pier (see additional location details below) at 7pm\, beginning an evening of celebration that includes a sandwich buffet\, drinks\, a special guest\, and a few brief speeches. We will make a scheduled stop back at Temple at 9pm\, though the event will continue until 11pm for those who wish to stay on board and enjoy the magnificent sights of London by night. This evening offers a fantastic opportunity to take in the landmarks along the Thames while enjoying the company of fellow leaders from both your own company and others across London District. \nAn invitation to event is extended to all BB/GA leaders (in London District) and their partners. The cost of the event includes a food buffet and two drinks tokens and is priced at £15 for the alcoholic option or £12 for non-alcoholic drinks. The buffet will comprise sandwiches and other cold savoury items\, along with some cakes and sweet treats. \nPlease book by completing the online form here and making payment. You can book for a total of 6 people by completing this form (if wanting to register additional persons please complete the form again). The main contact will be responsible for communicating details with other persons being registered through this form. \nPlaces are limited\, so bookings will be on a first come first serve basis\, and so early booking is encouraged. DESCRIPTION:The London Massed Bugle Band has been invited to participate in the VE Day 80 Parade in Westminster. \nThis is an exciting and very high-profile event\, which will be broadcast live on the BBC as part of the VE Day 80 celebrations that week. It will include a ceremony at Parliament Square\, followed by a parade up Whitehall\, past Trafalgar Square and down the Mall to Buckingham Palace\, where members of the Royal Family and other dignitaries and guests will watch from a stage at the Queen Victoria statue. SUMMARY:Juniors International Team Games
DESCRIPTION:The Juniors International Team Games is an annual event for the Juniors age group and open to sections throughout the world. \nTeams of 4-6 Juniors compete in six team games which require minimal equipment and preparation\, all on a date and at a location convenient to you. \nThe competition is a national competition organised by The Boys’ Brigade and there will also be an award for the team from within the London District area that achieves the highest score. \nFor details about the 2024/25 event as they become available please check out the BBUK website. \nThe deadline for entries will be 30th April 2025.

DESCRIPTION:The London District Bible Quizzes are run as ‘play at home’ competitions\, with an event for the Juniors age group and one for Company & Seniors. \nAlthough there is a competitive element\, we hope that the primary purpose of the events will be to enable children and young people to engage with the Bible in a meaningful way\, wherever they are in their own faith journey. \nThe events can be run as part of your own sessions and in your meeting space\, with entries being submitted to us by email. \nFor more details about the competitions for 2024/25\, which can be participated in between 1st January and 30th April 2025\, please click here.

SUMMARY:Paintball Event
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Paintball Event will take place on Saturday 12th October 2024 at Delta Force East London\, located in Upminster. \nThe event is open to Company and Seniors age groups\, and bookings can now be made online here. \nThe event will take from 10am to 1pm\, with participants playing 6 games during the day\, with all equipment being provided\, along with 500 paintballs per person. The cost for all of this is £38 per person. \nBookings must be made online by Monday 30th September 2024. \nThis venue is regarded as one of the best in the country\, offering amazing facilities and game zones\, including a jet aeroplane\, no less than 4 double-decker buses\, armoured vehicles\, forts\, jungle environments and much more. With six massive battle arenas\, there are plenty of action-packed scenarios and missions for you to try and conquer. The venue is easy to access being close to major roads including M25 and A406\, as well as just minutes from Upminster Underground Station\, so also accessible by public transport. \nThis is a great opportunity to bring Company/Senior members together\, so consider offering it how to your young people.

SUMMARY:BBHQ Adventure Day
DESCRIPTION:A great opportunity for Company and Senior members to join others from across the Brigade for a day of adventure activities. \nThe Adventure Days are being run as part of the Brigade’s ‘Your Future’ project. The closest opportunity to London is to be held on Saturday 28th September at Phasels Wood Activity Centre in Hemel Hempstead. \nActivities during the day will include High Ropes\, Crate Stacking\, Archery\, Aero Ball\, Climbing\, Rifle Shooting and more. All young people will get to do 4 or 5 activities. As well as this those attending will be provided with a sandwich lunch. The day will run from 10am to 5pm. SUMMARY:First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:This is a certified one day Emergency First Aid at Work Course run by Melvyn French\, a Boys’ Brigade leader from South East Battalion and can be completed by those needing to renew their qualification or those who are new to First Aid. \nThe course will be taking place on Saturday 14th September 2024 from 09:30 until 16:30 at The Vine Christian Community Church\, Axminster Crescent\, Welling\, DA16 1HF. This course costs a fraction of what it would cost with a provider outside of The Boys’ Brigade and we would encourage leaders who are interested in undertaking a First Aid qualification to book onto the course. Feedback from those who have attended previously is that it is one of the best First Aid courses they have attended and very interactive. \nOnce completed the qualification will be valid for three years and leaders can inform HQ that they have completed the course and their OBM records will be updated. \nPlease contact Melvyn directly on melvynfrench7@gmail.com to find out more and to book your place on the course. \n
