The Boys’ Brigade in London
The Boys’ Brigade in London supports over 50 individual groups and more than 500 leaders to work with over 1300 children & young people of all genders throughout the London area, enabling them to live ‘life to the full’. From craft activities, baking & games to sports, woodwork & life skills, there is something for everyone from the age of 5 to the age of 18, at one of our local groups. Our work is rooted in the Christian faith but we accept members and volunteers from all faiths and none, believing in the abilities, skills and ideas of each person.
All our volunteers are required to undergo regular DBS checks and are provided with regular training and support to ensure all our members have the best possible experience during their time with us.
Please get in touch if you would like to find out more, have a child who would like to join The Boys’ Brigade or you would like to volunteer with us.
We have faith in young people and want all our members to live ‘life to the full’
What we do
We organise a number of competitions for our members to take part in each year. These include a mix of competitions where teams can take part in their own meeting space and more traditional competitions with teams meeting together in one place.
We also support the Regional & National competitions, encouraging groups to take part in these and challenging teams to do their best at all levels.
We organise a number of events for our members to attend throughout the year. These provide an opportunity for children and young people to mix with members from other groups and form friendships across the wider organisation.
Our events are tailored to the different age groups within the organisation and are always well attended by groups across London & beyond.
We believe in inspiring children and young people to be the best that they can be and support them through our various awards and grant schemes.
Our grants & awards recognise the achievements of our members and encourage them to reach their full potential, irrespective of their background or current situation.
We hold a number of training events throughout the year for our volunteers across London. These include ‘Youth Leader Training’ for our newest volunteers and ‘ReFresh’ for those volunteers in our organisation who would like to update their knowledge and skills.
All out training events are supported by a team of experienced Boys’ Brigade leaders, able to answer any questions our volunteers may have.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are the key to the success of the organisation so we try to make the experience as enjoyable for them as it is for the children and young people who attend. We provide support to volunteers throughout their time with us and are always at the end of the phone or an email, to answer your queries.
For new volunteers, we will work with you to find the best group that matches the skills you have and then be right beside you as you settle in to the group.
