Virtual Youth Leader Training – Module 1 – Your Role in The Boys’ Brigade
Over the course of the 2023/24 session, London District will be delivering Youth Leader Training Modules virtually on the second Wednesday of each month. The timings will vary slightly depending on the module being delivered and leaders are welcome to join for every unit to complete the full Youth Leader Training Course, or attend just the units that are of interest, or for refresher training. All modules are free to attend and are open to all leaders, even if you are based outside London.

The objective of this module is to define youth work, understand your role as a leader in the BB and acknowledge the organisation’s Vision, Mission and Values.
At the end of this module participants will:
- Know the Vision, Mission and Values of The Boys’ Brigade
- Identify what a BB leader needs in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to work effectively with children and young people
- Be able to name the four core values of youth work and understand how these form the framework for the content of Youth Leader Training
At the start of the module we will allocate some time for leaders to introduce themselves and take part in an icebreaker activity.
