Awards Celebration

Join us for the London District Awards Celebration 2026!

We are delighted to confirm the upcoming London District Awards Celebration, returning to City Hall on Saturday, January 31st, 2026.

Building on the wonderful success of our previous event, this special occasion will once again bring together young people and leaders from across the London District. We look forward to commending those who have achieved the Brigade’s most prestigious accolades, including the King’s Badge (formerly Queen’s Badge) and the President’s Badge. We will also proudly recognise individuals who have received the Jack Petchey Award, Duke of Edinburgh Award, and other significant commendations.

City Hall, the iconic home of the Mayor of London, provides a magnificent backdrop with its panoramic views of the Royal Docks in Newham, East London. It’s an ideal venue to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our award winners and their dedicated supporters.

Key Event Details

When and what will happen at the Awards Celebration?
The event will take place on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, at City Hall. Arrivals will be from 10:15am, with the awards ceremony starting promptly at 10:30am and finishing by 12:00 noon.

All award recipients will be invited on to the stage to be presented with their respective awards by special guest VIPs. They’ll receive a special recognition certificate from London District. Jack Petchey Award recipients will proudly receive their Jack Petchey Medallions.

Last year, the District encouraged companies to apply for a small grant to extend the day’s celebrations. Companies chose to take part in a range of activities, including going over the Thames on the Cable Car, walking over The O2 Arena, and enjoying a boat trip on the river. The District will be running this grant again for 2026 (see below for further information).

Who is eligible to attend the Awards Celebration?
All those who have gained one of the following awards between January 1st 2025, and December 31st 2025, are eligible to attend:

  • King’s Badge (formerly Queen’s Badge)
  • President’s Badge
  • Deputy Lieutenant Certificate
  • Jack Petchey Achievement Award
  • Jack Petchey Leaders Award
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award

How do we register to attend the Awards Celebration?
The Company Captain (or Leader-in-Charge) should register any young people or leaders eligible to attend the awards celebration by completing the online registration form at: https://fs4.formsite.com/RMHUEp/irjkhated2/index

We have a limited number of spaces available for this session’s Awards Celebration, so we advise registering places early. Each award recipient is entitled to bring one guest along with them; this could be a parent or a BB leader. The name of the guest will be required in advance (although not upon registration).

Once submitted, we will confirm acceptance, usually within seven days.

The deadline to register is the 15th of December 2025

How do I apply for a financial grant for award recipients?

London District is offering a financial grant of £10 per award recipient, to enable Companies to offer award recipients lunch or an experience/activity after the awards celebration. This could offer recipients an additional experience/opportunity as part of the day. Please note the financial grant is not available to support transport to and from the event. The financial grant is not based on any selection/criteria, it will be paid out (after the event) for all award recipients where an additional activity/experience has been undertaken.

Ideas for activities/experiences:

  • Trip on IFS Cloud Cable Car (located outside City Hall) offering great views and a different experience (fares between £3 and £12 depending on single/return trip and age of passengers).
  • Climb over The o2 (located just across the river) offering views across London and a unique experience climbing over one of London’s most well-known venues (fees from around £40 per person).
  • Thames River Boat – Take an Uber Thames Clipper along the Thames to London Eye or one of the other destinations to see London from a different perspective (fares around £5 to £8 per person, may be cheaper if already have a TFL Travelcard).
  • Activities at The o2 (located just across the river) go inside one of London’s most well-known landmarks, where you will find Hollywood Bowl, Oxygen Trampoline Park, Toca Social, Clip n Climb, iFLY Indoor Sky Diving and more (cost from £8 to £40 per person dependent on activity and age).
  • Lunch – Enjoy lunch at one of the many venues close by, whether on the Royal Docks side of the water or across at The o2.

You can choose to do any activity/experience, the list above are just some ideas you could consider.

The financial grant can be claimed by completing an online form post event, which will be provided to your main Company contact. You will just be required to provide some basic details about what activity/experience you undertook, and the amount of £10 per recipient will be paid directly to your Company bank account. We would also love you to share any photos you take.

How do I get to City Hall?
City Hall has excellent transport links via the Cable Car, DLR, Jubilee Line and Elizabeth Line. We recommend using public transport to travel to the venue. Limited parking is available at Crowne Plaza Hotel or Excel Conference Centre (5-10 minute walk from venue), charges are between £10-£25. City Hall is within the ULEZ and therefore all those driving should check this to avoid penalties.

What can I bring into the venue?

As this is a high profile venue there will be security checks on entry to the building and you are asked not to bring large bags or unnecessary items with you. Please be aware that the security checks are similar to that at an airport and therefore fairly time consuming. Due to the number of guests you are likely to face a wait to get in.
