We are delighted to announce that our Refresh training event is returning for 2026. This year’s event will take place at Wesley’s Chapel on Saturday 28 November from 10 am to 5 pm.
Refresh is all about equipping leaders by providing a range of workshops and training opportunities. Many of the sessions on offer are based on what leaders have been asking us for, so we hope they will be of interest to a wide range of leaders across the District. Why not come along to Refresh as a staff team? You can split up to cover a range of different workshops, as well as take the opportunity to network with other leaders. We are bringing in several external trainers, including BB HQ staff, to deliver the workshops. There will also be opportunities to complete mandatory BB training, such as Safeguarding and Managing Risk, which leaders in specific roles are required to complete.
The day will include the following workshops: First Aid, Mental Health, Safeguarding, Managing Risk, Sharing Faith, Digital Tools & Social Media, and Programme Ideas for Under-11s and Over-11s. The cost to attend is just £10 per person, which includes lunch (though some specific workshops carry an additional cost).
Please see below a break down of each workshop and the time table.
First Aid: An opportunity to complete Basic First Aid at Work course run by Safety First Aid Training. Participants will receive a certificate valid for 3 years. Find out more here. Additional cost: £30 per person (max 12 people)

The course raises awareness of youth mental health, covering common conditions, practical support strategies, and ways to relate to young people’s experiences. Participants will receive a manual and a certificate. Additional cost: £10 per person (max 20 people).

We’ll share practical resources, useful tips and creative ideas to help you bring faith to life in ways that connect with children and young people, whatever their age or starting point.
Whether through planned activities, everyday conversations or moments of reflection, this module will help you feel more confident about sharing faith naturally and authentically within your BB setting.

We’ll share practical tips, useful tools and creative ideas for making the most of digital platforms – from promoting your group and celebrating what you do, to improving communication and making everyday tasks easier.
With a focus on safe, appropriate and effective use, you’ll leave with practical ideas and greater confidence to make digital tools and social media work for your BB setting.
