Virtual Youth Leader Training – Module 3 – Working with Over 11’s

FreeOver the course of the 2023/24 session, London District will be delivering Youth Leader Training Modules virtually on the second Wednesday of each month. The timings will vary slightly depending on the module being delivered and leaders are welcome to join for every unit to complete the full Youth Leader Training Course, or attend just the units that are of interest, or for refresher training. All modules are free to attend and are open to all leaders, even if you are based outside London.

In order to complete the full Youth Leader Training, leaders need to complete either module 2 or module 3. Leaders are however welcome to complete both, if they would like to.
The objective of this module is to enable participants to work more effectively with over 11s through building safe and positive relationships and being confident in developing an effective framework where young people are empowered and encouraged to participate.
At the end of this module participants will:
- Understand the nature of the relationship between a BB leader and a young person and identify why it is important to build relationships with young people
- Understand how to build participation and empowerment into the programme
- Understand what we want to achieve when working with this age group
- Be able to maintain positive and healthy relationships and understand appropriate boundaries
- Be able to feel confident in developing an effective framework for delivery
