There are numerous opportunities to enhance your programme through activities, day trips and residentials. There are a number of activity centres and residential sites that are run by Boys’ Brigade Battalions & Districts that are within easy reach of London that could be utilised whilst supporting other parts of The Boys’ Brigade.
Water Activity Centre, Tonbridge, Kent
The Water Activity Centre (WAC) is owned and managed by The Boys’ Brigade North West Kent Battalion and is located on The River Medway at Tonbridge. For many years it has provided fun on the river for all ages and is a great place for young people to learn and improve their kayaking skills. The centre is well equipped, within easy reach of Tonbridge town centre and railway station and therefore within a reasonable travel distance from companies within London.
Honeyhill, Bearstead, Kent
Honeyhill Camping and Activity Centre is run by North West Kent Battalion, set in 11 acres of woodland adjacent to the M20 motorway and is screened by a tree belt and fence. The site has all that you would expect from a modern campsite including a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, male and female toilet and shower facilities and caravan power hook-up. Various equipment is available for hire from the Battalion including Marquees, Ridge Tents, Football Goals, Table Tennis and Tug of War.
Lower Dean, Whitecliff Bay, Isle of Wight
The campsite “Lower Dean, Peacock Hill” is situated at Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight within five minutes walking distance of a sandy beach and is maintained by the 13th Bromley Boys’ Brigade. The site has two permanent buildings one housing modern cooking facilities and the other housing showers and flush toilet facilities (see pictures). Mains gas and electric feed both of these buildings. The site is open from July through to early September each year and caters for groups of up to 120 people.
